Conclusion: CET Great Race for Rewards

The Great Race to Rewards

Conclusion: Pro’s vs Con’s; Was it all worth it?

Pro’s:

  1. My wife and I have the free time to travel and enjoy the amenities offered by Caesars Entertainment properties.
  2. The two longest trips were completed using airfare & room offers from Caesars Entertainment. (Laughlin & Atlantic City)
  3. All rooms were comp’ed by Caesars Entertainment.
  4. Both of us collected the bonus points.
  5. We both made a profit after all check-points were collected.
  6. We were on vacation most of the summer months.
  7. I broke my unlucky streak at Biloxi.

Con’s:

  1. We seriously lowered our ADT scores which are used to calculate future trips and comp’ed room offers.
  2. There was no way to check your Race progress during your travels.
  3. Our trip was postponed due to Hurricane Isaac which hurried us to complete our southern trip.
  4. It was unknown if we would come out ahead on each leg of our trip. We could lose more than we would make in comp’s.
  5. We did pay for two hotel rooms at non-Caesars properties. (Vicksburg & OKC) Both times to make the trip easier for us.

So the big question; was it worth it?

It is very much an individual decision. It was worth it for us this year. The rules changed quite a bit from last year and if they change again next year we might not see its worth. In that case, we won’t participate again. But the “Race for Rewards” is all what you make it.  For us, it was a great summer. We received seven of our check-points (three locations) from trips we’d already planned to take. We saw it as quite a series of small vacations this summer with great rooms and meals.

It wasn’t about the Reward, it was all about the Race, and Race we did!
